Quickbooks pro 2010 for mac reviews
The for answered emails, and on two occasions they sent pro an email declaring that reviews had solved my problem and closed the case. Each time I had to re-report the problem and get a new case number opened up. I uploaded my file several times and sent them numerous screen shots and supporting documentation.
Sending any data or email to them was mac dropping it into a black hole. They kept replying with the original answer, hold down Command-Option quickbooks opening the file. Based on my experience, I would say Intuit Data Services are extremely hard to deal with. The only way I got a response was by 2010 reviews and posting YouTube videos of the problems. I would have to advise anyone seeking support from them to be prepared to do the same.
Intuit is the dominant player in small business accounting software. It seems to me that this has made them very complacent and indifferent to customer issues. My experience with them over the past five months has been remarkable. It stands in radical contrast to companies like Zappos, Amazon, and Apple. My bookkeeper uses a Windows machine and I use a Mac. I simply needed a way to open QuickBooks files on my Mac. This is a one-way process only. I do not edit the files and send them back to her, which is known as round-tripping.
I worked with Intuit Data Services for five months on this. They assigned several reps to me. Several of the the reps reiterated what the original rep told me see belownamely, that this is a known issue on the Mac and that this product has had problems all along.
Then I would get a new rep and they would start all over again. My conclusion, based on what I heard from Intuit Data Services multiple times, is that QuickBooks for Mac is a deeply flawed program and that Intuit either does not want to admit or apply the resources to fix it. As an aside, most of the Intuit Data Services reps I dealt with were courteous and professional except for a man named Praveen.
Praveen ignored emails I sent him and twice set up times for conference calls with me and then stood me up. Based on my experience, if you get assigned Praveen from IDS, it might be good to ask for someone else.

Instead of looking at the file on a Windows machine, it would be great to convert it to a Mac format so I can look at on my Mac.

quicjbooks I talked to Intuit support, who told me this is a 20010 problem with the file conversion routine in QuickBooks for Windows. He said this is very common, and suggested that it would be better if I only convert files a few times a year. The ONLY reason I purchased this software is to be able to convert my Windows file to Mac, which I need to do monthly, at a minimum, and probably weekly, as my bookkeeper updates the file.
Intuit support said there is a fix. I would have to upload my entire general ledger file to Intuit and they will try to fix it.

They will let me know in three days if they have been able to fix the file, at which point I can download the fixed file. This is insane! QuickBooks files are full of confidential financial information and account information. I thought about suggesting that if Intuit would send me all of their bank account numbers and transaction data, I'll send them mine.
Who in their right mind would upload their entire general ledger to God knows where. Waiting three days to see if they can fix the problem caused by conversion routine in QuickBooks Windows is also completely unacceptable.
In the time it takes to upload the file, I can boot up my Windows machine and just do the work on Windows. I can only surmise that QuickBooks for Mac is a ploy by Intuit to drive all of their users away from the Mac version to the Windows version. Sort by: Newest Oldest. I bought this version to use wtih my mac and now that OS X Mountain Lion is about to come out, Intuit is sending me a nice email to tell me that they won't support this OS for and prior and that it might work but could have problems.

All updates are installed, and running perfectly. I have switched to Mac like so many others, and really wanted to avoid using Parallels for running anything that could be run on the Mac. I purchased QB for Mac as soon as it was available. Mac really lacks the customizing features you are used to in the PC version, even the version. The solutions for some things don't work at all [like setting a default bank account when writing checks My real problem is that now it will not let me switch companies, and is 'frozen' into one company and will not change [just makes the 'error thunk' sound even after quitting QB AND restarting the computer.
I'm now using parallels and my old Who can afford to be without there accounting software for more than a day or two while Intuit works out the bugs on my time [and my dime]? My goal was to move 20110 data in Quicken to Quickbooks at the recommendation of my accountant. Quickbooks will listen to some of the most god awful reviews music known to human race. If for do not speak Farsi you will have a hard time explaining your situation but with persistence you will get your message across. You will be asked to hold once more. About five minutes qhickbooks pass before tech support fod 2010 up.
At this point you will realize how terrible a purchase you have made and how absolutely horrendous Intuit is as an pr provider when you receive this answer; "To transfer your information from Quicken to Quickbooks 2010 will need to have a copy of Quicken for windows, go to a windows machine and do the conversion process using the utilities in the windows version of Quicken, then bring this file back to the Mac and use the utilities in Quickbooks to recognize the file- there is no way to do this on a Mac.
